KKP produces quality pigs with great top line, straight legs with strong
pasterns that tie into feet that can carry the weight while on pasture. My preference is upright ears for better hearing and a clear view of the face to see the expression of the pig. Careful consideration is given to each piglet as breeding quality to determine it's future either to stay at KKP, sold as breeding stock or head to the finish farm. The finish farm is a perfect fit with us, they do what works for their goals and KKP has more time and space for selective breeding.

KKP has narrowed the number of lines that we want to promote. The days of
having every line in a herd is unproductive. Line breeding is a useful tool
that is used occasionally, to enhance the quality of piglets. I do not
follow the use of coi in my herd. Good mom's are essential to the program
to grow piglets to their full potential. Boars that are easy to work with and produce strong piglets.
The boar lines I have chosen to work with Boris, Whakanui, Mahia Love, Tutanekai,
and Andrew. My sow lines include, Jenny, Rona, Wilson's Gina, Tarutaru.
